Lusk Community Council with the support of Fingal Leader Partnership has announced the launch of ‘Lusk Vision 2030: Lusk for Life’, a new project seeking to improve the quality of life for all residents of Lusk.
Launched by Minister of State Joe O’Brien TD this week with a video outlining the goals of the project, it aims to engage wide participation from all residents of Lusk.
‘Lusk Vision 2030’ is a new type of town Action Plan – unique to Lusk, it will develop holistic, long‐term strategies for the future development of the town to help ensure the town thrives for all its citizens.
This project will develop a community‐led vision for Lusk, co‐created with community and voluntary groups, businesses and stakeholders.
‘Lusk Vision 2030’ is led by consultants AP+E Architects with Miriam Delaney and Tara Kennedy. This is an architect-led collaborative team with a track record in devising, engaging and delivering innovative projects, with distinct expertise in relation to small towns, community engagement and spatial analysis.
They have designed a public participation programme open to all, in line with COVID-19 guidelines, and want to hear your views through a series of public participation workshops and surveys.
The strategies and design principles that will be presented in the final report will highlight various scenarios as the town develops, allowing for proactive planning of community facilities and infrastructure.
The Community Council wishes to encourage the people of Lusk to take to get involved and play an active role in creating a future vision for Lusk.
Members of the community are invited to complete an on‐line survey, take part in a virtual workshops or get in touch directly with the consultants to have their voice heard.
Links to the survey will be circulated through local social media channels, with invitations issued to community groups to take part in on-line workshops. An open day of on-line meetings to be held in late February will be advertised locally.
